YAY!

Let's hope it solves the issues, especially as MS have now made Creators Update a mandatory update (it downloaded and wants to install on my 820 last night - I've made a system recovery drive just in case ;-) )

This Bios update didn't work for my LINX 820. I tried installing it and it said it completed successfully but installed the creators update and it still had the same issues. I ran the bios update program again and it still said the Bios date was 2016. I've kept trying to apply the bios update. Each time it says it has updated successfully, but it does update for me.

Me too, I'm afraid, even reset back to a clean machine (having followed windows advice to remove the old version  )

So I've raised a support request with Linx, I've done some digging on my system and if I look in the log, I can see the following

11/08/2017 13:18:41 - Run Command With Progress...
11/08/2017 13:18:41 -
11/08/2017 13:18:41 - Program Name: C:\ProgramData\Linx\LinxFirmwareUpdateTool\FirmwareExtracted\InstallUpdateCapsule.cmd
11/08/2017 13:18:41 - Switches:
11/08/2017 13:18:41 -
11/08/2017 13:18:43 - Exit code: 2

which I looked up and is a DevCon failure return code (whatever that means).

Will keep you posted.

Update from Linx:

"we've report this [problem] to the engineer and have also taken collection of a unit with the same issue from another user which should be with the software engineer tomorrow to help him work out what might be causing the issue.

We should hopefully get a full report soon after the delivery of the unit with the engineer."

Thanks

A new BIOS update is available that seems to fix the problems and update properly, I've tried it and it worked (although there is quite a long pause, while it updated - so patience is a virtue) - since the install battery life is improved and the tablet shutdown and reboots properly, don't know if it's fixed anything else.

Thanks.

Could you share a link please? Or should I find it in the windows updates?

Thanks!
