How did you get the wifi working on Phoenix os? I've got a 12x64 with Phoenix dual boot but can't seem to get the wifi or sound working

you just need to change the name on the firmware file and add sdio on the filename.

/lib/firmware/brcm/brcmfmac43455-sdio.txt

I made a thread explaining how to do this: http://www.linxtablet.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=77&t=3154

After reading some of the other posts here, I'm at a stage now where I have working Wifi, but no sound and the screen rotates incorrectly, and seems to be 90 degrees counter clockwise off, so the "top" of the screen is always on the left hand edge of the display.

Screen rotation
-----------------------
I found this post http://bbs.phoenixstudio.org/en/archive/index.php?thread-9746.html and wondered if this would work for the linx12x64 however I'm not sure how the X, Y and Z numbers correlate to the relevant adjustments. Perhaps someone could explain?

Sound
---------
I haven't yet found any documentation on how to get sound working, other than there is also mention of sound devices in the /etc/init.sh file as used above. Perhaps this can be edited to suit?

I think I now have screen rotation working correctly. By editing the /etc/init.ssh file and adding a line at the bottom of the "init_hal_sensors" function, the screen how rotates correctly.

Heres how I did it:

1. open the /etc/init.ssh file using something like ES Explorer (note: you'll need root access to write the file)

2. Scroll down to around line 338 which will read:
Code: Select all
set_property config.override_forced_orient $has_sensors

3. add a new line directly below this and before the closing } bracket:
Code: Select all
set_property hal.sensors.iio.accel.matrix 0,-1,0,-1,0,0,0,0,-1

4. Save the file and reboot the tablet. It should now work correctly.

What this essentially does is tells Android the correct orientation and direction of the X, Y and Z axes. There will bve a prettier way to do this in this file by using the case/esac declarations above but if you're only using this on a linx 12x64 tablet then theres really no need to adjust the case/esac statements above.

The next step is to try and get the sound working. I've run the lsmod command on a root terminal and have the output below:

There seems to be some lines here that mention a soundcard device but im not sure how I can use this data to get the soundcard working.

I've also tried the command:

Code: Select all
alsa_ctl init

which returns the following

Found hardware: "bytcht-nocodec" "" "" "" ""

Unhelpfully googling "bytcht-nocodec" seems to just tell me that there isn't a codec but no further information on how to install a codec.
Hopefully someone else will be able to help out here.
