General chit-chat on the Linx Versare 10" & Linx Versare 12"

Linx 12x64

by Danozzy18 » June 5th, 2017, 9:05 am

Hi All,

Has anyone purchased or got an experience with the newish Linx 12x64? I can see a number of reviews around the internet for the 12v64 but not the 12x so just wanted to know how much different / better it was?

Currys currently has it listed for £244.99 including a 64gb SD card - quite a bargain and i'm really tempted!

Hi Guys,

So I took the plunge and purchased the Linx 12x64 from Curry's which has just arrived today.

First impressions? It looks smart. It feels really nice to hold and is not too heavy - In fact I think my Linx 1010B just tips the scales over.

The screen is beautiful - not 4K but its definitely noticeable, the extra real estate on the display is nice as well.

Has anyone else got one? Anyone got any negative thoughts?

If anyone has any questions about the device i'll try and answer!

Sorry - Missed your post.

My wife bought one from Argos - I had a Linx 1010B. She had it a day; I got green with envy, found the Curry's deal, bought one and donated by 1010B to my son and haven't looked back.

I have to say I really love it. As you've pointed out, the screen is really nice, although its size makes it more of laptop replacement than a tablet - not that that is a negative factor from my POV.

I like the feel of the keyboard but don't like the fact that there are no Home/End/PgDn/PgUp keys. They would have been more useful than having the Fn key give you the extra NumPad keys. I had a 125Gb SD card in my Linx 1010B which I've brought over as additional storage. The old SD card slot was more secure in the 1010B but I have a small piece of clear duct tape over it and the card now has a Veracypt volume on it with all the files in it (the OS drive is also encrypted as well).

Yes I bought one from Argos.

Well pleased with it and customer support!

I had to reinstall the OS due to Edge giving problems. I am an insider so maybe the beta version gave me problems. The hardware is reliable but drivers are problematical. I could not get the two cameras to work OR the WIFI internal. After several emails and downloads of two drivers packs all is well. Barney from support was helpful as he could be but getting the driver packs down was slow due to the BAD BAD connection I have here in the rural Scottish Highlands!!

Hi casinovillain,

I also had some intermittent problems with wireless and couldn't seem to find any updated drivers.

Are you able to provide the list of drivers that were given to you by support and i'll see if i can update some!

I did also have some strange graphic issue whereby it looks like the internal graphics adapter just failed to start. Yet showed no errors in device manager. A reboot solved that one we hope!

Thanks!
