So far I like this device except the dpad is by far the worst I have ever used. It really is unusable in games except for those where it's used to just select weapons etc.

I wondered if anyone had ever tried taking it apart and replacing the dpad?

The controller doesnt seem to come apart easily & I just broke my last spudger; didnt want to break my only controller so will put up with it for now - if I can ever find spare I would probably tear it apart with the intent of dimming the leds.

The dpad seems to be in direct contact with microswitches, doubt theres much clearance behind there and its a small diameter so unlikely any standard parts would fit, would probably need a custom replacement - the dpad's not that bad once you use it for a while except for the loud clicking.

I use the IPega 9023. Its seen as a mouse and keyboard. This also helps games work that refuse to even boot without keyboard present.
Its nicer to hold too. You can configure it also.
