Needs reset for Wifi internet to work

Postby andycabs » October 20th, 2016, 3:47 am

So many times I am finding the wifi will not connect. I restart the tablet and everything is OK Even my home wifi signal that is picked up OK by other devices...every now and again it drops out saying "unable to connect", without restarting I can connect to other nearby signals..but to reconnect to my own it needs to shut down the linx and restart it...when it connects OK? Any ideas what is causing this and whaat might be done to cure it?

I dont have links to hand, as Im in work. Have a search around. Others have reported same type of issues. It looks like it is down to the stupid connected standby and the balanced profile your locked to. The wifi adapter is being suspended to save power.

Make that a second person with same issue, FOLLET.
It really infuriates me the way it was designed as it is a good little 2 in 1 all rounder.
Any solutions or even a workaround would be gratefully received.

That strikes me as one very silly move.
If you have your device plugged in, you are not draining any power.

Huh?
Even when plugged in, it will suspend to save power.

Well, FOLLET, that sums up the whole thing.

Excellent all rounder 2 in 1; nobbled by the illogical WiFi suspend design.

Yeesh!!!

Still not sure I understand, what you mean. Every PC I have come across, have this as default in power schemes. I have always set my scheme to Maxium Performance and tweaked it. Unfortunately with these tablets, they want to make it work like android devices. I personally could not care less for it working like an android tablet. Connected Standby is only needed to make notifications work, plus it stops us having 64Bit Windows.

Offtopic, is the second T missing?

Have an Asus T100ta which has never dropped its connection.
Also there does not seem to be any other Power Plan than Balanced.
Are you creating your own plan?? :?:

No, you disable Connected Standby in Registry. It will then unlock extra power schemes.
If you know what your doing. You could add just the power saver options to your current (only) power scheme, if you want to keep connected standby.
