Linx 7 won't turn on

Postby benharvey29 » October 21st, 2015, 8:41 pm

I left my linx 7 plugged in upgrading from 8.1 to 10, went out for the day and came back to find that it won't turn on.

I get nothing on the screen but when I plug it in to charge it the blue light comes on. Pressing the power button once to try and turn it on makes the blue light flash off and then on again. Holding the power button down does nothing.

I haven't made any changes to the bios or anything, just downloaded windows 10 through windows update, restarted which started the install, went out for the day and now it seems to be bricked.

Does anyone have any advice to help me get the tablet to work?

I've emailed the technical support provided by the manufacturer and they told me to do an "emergency reboot" which unfortunately didn't work.

I've responded to their email asking if there's anything else that I need to try so I'll post if/when they work out what the fix is.

Hi

I have just had the same issue after an automatic Windows update.
Blue light flash when On button pressed if on external power. Else nothing.
Is there a fix.
The tablet is 1 day old! :(

Solved.
The Windows reboot instantly killed the battery level to 0. Leave it plugged in for a while then emergency reset.

Hi all,

I have the same problem - except my screen went black as I was installing an Android emulator (Droid4X).

I'm a dab hand with computers, but tablets are new to me - I can't tell whether the thing is powered on and not responding somehow, or powered off and won't power on. As with OP, the charge light flashes off for a split second when I press the power button.
(edit: definitely powered off: I left myself connected to a TeamSpeak server on the tablet, but when I connect from the computer, my tablet identity is not there.)

What is this emergency reset that you guys speak of? I've looked online for a series of hardware buttons to press to force restart the device, but to no avail; everybody just talks about 'resetting' Windows from within the OS.

Does the tablet discharge faster than it can charge? My tablet was plugged in when the screen blacked out.

I have the same problem, Got Lynx 7 yesterday. Upgraded to Windows 10 and then was left with a black screen and nothing working .
Was ready to return tablet today.

Got up this morning and was able to start tablet ok and everything was fine, untill I tried installing windows 10 latest updates, which resulted in same problem. Managed to get it to start by disconnecting power supply , leaving it for about 10 minutes, reconnecting power & then holding in power & volume up buttons for about 10 seconds ?).

Then after installing Avast & ccleaner, I was installing firefox when once again tablet went to black screen and wont turn on.
Again managed to get it to start after about 10 minutes (by doing as above).

Hopefully every update doesn't cause same problems.

Same problem again.
This time Groove music player crashed and tablet went black screen again.
Been an hour and I can't get it to turn on again.

All I can get is blue power light on, but only when tablet is connected to power source,
even though tablet battery had around 85% charge at time of crash.

I'm also having the same problem battery died and now won't switch on, I have had it on charge now for 5 hours and still no luck I'll leave it until tomorrow and if I still have no luck it will go back for a refund.

First impressions are everything and currently it's not looking good.

Reading the above posts, I tried the 'Power button plus Volume buttons' at the same time, held for some seconds brought the table back into service. I am assuming that the 'Power plus Volume buttons' is the emergency reset method.
