Opps, I've Bricked it!

Oh dear, looks like I've bricked my trusty Linx 7 :?

I attempted to do a windows 10 upgrade, all was going well, I then got an error about being out of space so changed the setting to install to the SD card.

after that i got stuck in the infinite dreaded 'restoring windows to the previous version' loop....drat! :(

I popped into the bios and changed the first boot device to UEFI: Built in EFI Shell - when it tries to boot now it boots into something that looks like DOS (but i don't think it is!)

I spoke to the support guys (got the number from another thread on here) and it sounds like they won't touch it with a barge pole....double drat...

Any ideas of how to resurrect my tablet or is it fubar'ed?

Cheers all, and thanks in advance!

1. Put windows 8 back on.

2. Back up - just in case you get the same issue again.
Make a recovery image in windows - loads of posts here on that.
I'd also suggest trying macrium free. I've backed up and restored successfully on a linx 8 - nobody's reported it restoring on a 7 yet but there's no reason it shouldn't work.
3. Do the upgrade again.

Good luck.

OK, cool, I'll give that a go! (may stick to 8.1 for the time being though after I get it running again!)

You need to go back in the Bios and change the default boot device to the eMMC drive. By changing it to the EFI shell prompt, you're always going to go to that dos like prompt (a shell).

The eMMC drive does not appear in the bios, will this appear when the USB device is connected?
