1010 and android booting

by jmexp » January 17th, 2016, 5:26 pm

Hi everyone.

New here, thanks for the great site.

I have been plating with trying to get android to boot off of a usb stick on my new 1010L, and i just cant get it to work.

I have created various images for the USB stick;
Android-x86 4.4-r3 EFI image
Android-x86 5.1-rc1 EFI image (64-bit OS)
and even the new Remix OS)

all no no avail. They boot to the first screen saying android-x86 live, install etc, but then the screen flashes and thats as far as i get.

Any ideas what i'm doing wrong? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Jay

This sounds like a driver issue. Because it has rudimentary x86 capability it may do all the basic installation in preparation of functional install, but it will be at this point that it will fail if there are driver issues. Those driver issues could stem from anywhere, from the BIOS to any core function hardware such as video, etc.

Until you identify where the driver issue is this procedure will be a no-go.

I also have the same issues, I was able to play with boot settings and at least get text to appear on the screen to try and spot issues, but its above my pay grade :-). Here is my info http://www.linxtablet.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=1676&p=9934#p9934, see post 6
