Linx 8 install OK but for windows button.

Install Windows 10 fully just finished. Before install got 8.1 up to date. Did C drive clean up and had 12GB space.
Install internet install everything went OK. First think check hard drive only 3.6GB spare so clean up again and had 24GB back then optimized C drive all OK.
Noticed windows key not functioning downloaded drivers and loaded but still not working.
Went into Device Manager/
Human Interface Devices/
Goodix Touch HID/
Driver should be dated 27/07/2015. (update through driver let it search Internet and it does it itself.)
Now working.
Now only problem I have I think is screen rotate is 90 degrees out.

What I did when I was on the insider builds was install the complete driver package - this sorted out rotation issues and got the Windows button working too. Likely the same for RTM.
Windows update will then take care of updating old drivers.

I manually rotated in the display settings, but the auto-rotate in 8.1was a better solution

Thanks for the windoze button info!

Just spent an hour messing in regedit

Settings for rotation are:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\ROOT\SENSOR\0000\Device Parameters\kxfusion]
"ACPI\\SMO8500\\1-0"="{CDA4B5F8-53B4-4E7C-8A73-0D69852FBEBA}"
"Orientation"=hex:00,00,01,00,00,01,02

That's what works for me

Which version of the drivers do you have installed?

I updated them in device manager and it downloads the latest version but the hex string for the older drivers doesn't work and the orientation is then out and I couldn't figure it out for the newest drivers.

Installing the older ones that come with the registry key fixes it but would rather have the newest ones.

Thanks

I used the drivers from the drivers pack on this site. The fix reg files didn't work for me so I edited the reg file manually

Press windows key + r - then type in regedit. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\ROOT\SENSOR\0000\Device Parameters\kxfusion and modify the hex string (select it and click edit, modify)

My last post says what worked for me

Having similar problems with the start menu and rotation. Not going to look at the rotation issue until I fix the start function out.

Ran the move to 10 as an update keeping my settings but now when I go into device manager there is no Goodix HID device. Also I grabbed the files from the command center for the Linx 10 ran all of them and did the same with the updated chipset drivers. No joy on that though, I cant screenshot as im at work but listing the devices I have the following under Human Interface Devices;

GPIO Buttons driver
HID-compliant Consumer control device
HID-compliant Consumer control device
HID-compliant control device
HID-compliant system controller
HID-compliant Touch Screen
HID-compliant Vendor-defined device
I2C HID Device
Sideeband GPIO buttons injection Device
USD input Device
USB input Device

Ive a feeling its the touch screen but I dont want to remove the driver pack and kill it

Hey folks,

I've just installed Win 10 for the first time on my Linx 8. I've had no problems what so ever so far.

The windows buttom works normally - had no need to reinstall the driver for it. And the rotate function works normal. Can't really say what I did to make this happen, as it all worked right after I did the upgrade from windows 8.

Weird thing to as well, peripheral that didn't work via bluetooth, now all work really well via Win 10. It's definately an improvements.

Also remember to to change the magnification setting in Display to 125%. The interface will then look much better and cleaner.
Perhaps, if folks are still having issues, a reinstall of Win 10 might work?

2. New one on me - the 125% looks much better and not so fiddly - good tip.
