i too had the rotation flipped 180deg, but have managed to fix it by repeating the steps again - hold and run the exe file as admin, then run the reg file again. I got a message saying the changes had been applied to the registry (which i didn't get before) and restarted and everything worked :).

So if you have the rotation lock option available but the rotation inverted, just try again:)

PS: Am really liking Windows 10 on my Linx 8 :) never really gelled with 8.1 but can now see my Linx getting a lot of usage :)

OK fixed it, running the reg file did not seem to work so did a reg edit as admin and set this :

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\ROOT\SENSOR\0000\Device Parameters\kxfusion]
"ACPI\\SMO8500\\1-0"="{DBCFFCEA-38C5-4386-9945-92F183AA5700}"
"Orientation"=hex:01,00,00,01,01,00,02

Then rebooted and all is well - thank god !

When I had problems, the only thing I did different was run as admin and boom. Sorted.

Even when I run regedit as admin I get an error saying I cannot create a key under ROOT as I don't have the requisite permissions. Looking at the permissions for the ROOT key, only system has permission to write to it. Does anyone else have this issue? I can't merge the .reg file or manually add the keys at the moment :cry:

Hi everyone!
New to the Linx 8 world, got it today and instantly had the same issue!

First 180, the 90 then 270...

Running through trying to fix it but it'll probably be tomorrow when I get back from work.
Clean install of Windows 10 x86 then I'll follow the steps.

For those still having issues, you are not alone!
And our tablets will mock us for not much longer lol

Re: auto rotate programs

Postby gjd » August 6th, 2015, 8:51 am

Hello

Please excuse the intrusion to someone else's thread. I did exactly the same thing. However...

I've downloaded and reinstalled the G Sensor driver (kxaccel-1.0.13.20-win8-x86) and restored the auto-rotate feature. To the amusement of the family, my screen is now 90 degrees out!

I've tried deleting and reinstalling the drivers, holding the tablet in portrait. I've reset the orientation in control panel settings. Still, the tablet reverts to being 90 degrees out.

I've hunted online for a solution, and the only solution is a regedit entry, which I don't understand.

Help!

I think this post has been moved from a different thread on a similar issue. Hence my first sentence

I carefully copied the values you've posted here, and rebooted.

My screen has now rotated 180 degrees, and is basically upside down wherever I hold it.

Are there some other steps that I have missed?

Edit - hopefully all this is academic - the tablet has just hit "update" mode. It's currently on 12%, so hopefully by morning everything will be as it should be, oriented correctly... I hope!

The settings that worked for me on a Linx 8 was

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\ROOT\SENSOR\0000\Device Parameters\kxfusion]
"ACPI\\SMO8500\\1-0"="{CDA4B5F8-53B4-4E7C-8A73-0D69852FBEBA}"
"Orientation"=hex:00,00,01,00,00,01,02

I still don't understand how it works, but I spent over an hour trying to sort it out
