Emulation

Postby t0xicp0et » June 17th, 2015, 9:43 am

Hi all,

wondering what other people use as classic emulators on the Linx (7 in particular) Im currently using these:

Gameboy advance: VisualBoy Advance
Neo Geo: NeoRage X
TurboGrafX 16: Turbo Engine
Sony PSP: PPSSPP 1.0.1

I also have emulators for the following systems that i havent loaded on yet (Mainly waiting for my SD card to arrive)

Atari: 2600, 7800, Jaguar & Lynx
Nintendo: NES, SNES, 64 & DS
Sony PSX
Sega: Master system & Mega Drive
MAME

To control it all Im using the iPega 9023 wireless extending joypad.

So what else does everyone use? any issues? advice on other emulators? :)

Project 64 works extremely well on Linx 10 for N64 emulation

Hmmm, wonder if the Ram difference will make N64 emulation an issue on the 7... N64 emulation always seemed dodgy at best....

I've tried Dolphin today with Twilight Princess. It looks fine but runs a bit slow, with FPS of around 20-24fps. I tweaked a couple of processing settings but nothing made much difference. That is one of the more demanding Gamecube games though so it is definitely possible that some of the older/less technically strenuous ones work.

I just flashed up PCSX2 with Final Fantasy XII and I was surprised at how well it performed. I only played for a bit, within a building, the FPS was around 50-60. The sound was a bit off. Not sure how it would fair in the open environments though.

I have just updated to Win 10 and am getting really poor results from the emulators from the Store. VBA10 and SNES8x. Practically unplayable.
