In the select disk management and it will load drive partition info.

Have a look at partitions and sizes. What are they?

No unallocated space?
That is one big screw up, if its true. So at present the drive is 16GB total.

That will not fix issue. That will be a bios issue, you could reinstall windows over and over, its never going to alter capacity of drive.
The OS is seeing what the hardware is telling it and that is, you have a 16GB capacity drive.
It will be a BIOS issue, as they said you had wrong firmware. Gets confusing as firmware is seen these days as OS installation, which is not.

These tablets come in 16gb configurations under other brand names. I have yet to see a Linx with 16 gb though.

Sainsbury's sold a linx10 with 16GB, I think - and the linxes were initially advertised as being 16GB (though I've not heard of a 7 or 8 with 16GB). But if it says 32GB on the box I'd be asking for a replacement from Exertis - no question.

Nope, they have posted him a recovery usb stick. Apparently reinstalling windows will make the hardware think its 32GB. Go figure.
The only way he will get 10 on it, is if he has a custom clean installer with all the drivers preinstalled.

I know, it won't make a difference but if they want me to try it and when there's no change, then i am a step closer to a replacement.

It does seem to be the case that they put the wrong size hard drive in though, how that could have happened i have no idea.

Does seems strange and your the only one to have this issue.
If you have one, think how many others could be out there and are not tech savvy enough to know theres an issue.

I know, i seem to be the only one! :(

I do wonder how many people may have this issue but as you said are not tech savvy enough to know it.

Surprise, surprise it (the usb recovery) made no difference and after telling support that, they proceeded to tell me about upgrading to windows 10 (which as i have already explained to them i cannot do due to insufficient hard drive space).

This time i took a picture of my disk management screen in the hopes they understand what i am saying, it seems i am just confusing them.

They did confirm there were no Linx 7 16GB models though, so where the 16GB drive came from i can only guess.

Hopefully now, i will get a proper response but we'll see...
