If you're gonna create a guide... stick it in here!

Many thanks to Nememo :-)
My tablet has been useless since an upgrade to win10 last year and it has been sitting unused and gathering dust since. I needed a tablet for work to save me carrying a laptop all the time and I have tried dozens of times to get this one working. It has caused me so much frustration I almost smashed it to bits last week in a fit of rage!!!
I followed your guide and hey presto I have it up and running again, you're due a lot of beer tokens for your efforts.

thanks again

You, Sir, are my saviour - my Ainol mini-pc went to single language chinese when I tried to upgrade to windows 10 wouldn't let me change the language, Microsoft said see Ainol, Ainol said see Microsoft. I found this and thought it worth a try since the architecture is the same ... flawless install, even all the drivers worked. I was ready to throw it in the vin before I found this

Rufus ???

by oliver15 » February 19th, 2018, 11:31 am

Question safety of Rufus download. Seems to me it takes a user to a third party download site and tries to scan drivers on laptop then trying to state out of date drivers detected and register and pay to repair drivers when i know my system is up to date with all drivers
and utilities.
Something doesn't smell right.

I'm trying to restore my linx 8 tablet but i'm not unable to do it.
I created the usb stick following the guide in the first post. I tried to boot up fom usb but <I only get a blue screen with this message "there isn't enough memory available to create a ramdisk device"
error code 0xc0000017
Any clues.
Thanks in advance

 cheer for providing the image. Windows 10 was a mess needed a reset.
For the many who doesn't know how to boot by uefi drive (power + volume up not working for me): goto windows update settings -> recovery -> advance restart. Select use uefi device and it will auto restart then reset pc and select windows 10 as target (no worries will reset to 8.1). As on op partition and quick wipe when you get to bios page asking clear tpm press volume down (do not clear) important as it contains your windows key. It will then reboot and setup 8.1.

Thanks again to op.

Hi.

I have followed this step for my Linx 1010 LTR and so far so good.

I have got up to the point where it's a black screen and I have to chose the Region and Language by using the drop downs and pressing Next, but the problem is that the touch screen is not working.

And I do not have a keyboard for it.

Any advice would be very much appreciated

You need a usb mouse connected via an otg cable - you can use the onscreen keyboard then.
