So some big news this morning, firstly that the You need to be registered to view this link, please log-in or register (I own an original production model from around 2011 and it's still going strong as a server) to include a quad core processor and 1 GB of RAM for the same crazily low price! An amazing amount of tech for less than £30!

And in seperate news, I saw today that You need to be registered to view this link, please log-in or register to run on these little devices! It's arguable if you would want to run Windows on them.. maybe coupled with a touch screen or if you chose to use this as a full PC it might make sense.. but otherwise linux is a better option methinks ;)

Some early benchmarks are coming out showing between You need to be registered to view this link, please log-in or register on the old model. These tests are all fairly synthetic but it's an interesting first take on these new boards. I'm getting one, who else? :)

I'll be getting one... although I might just hang on to see if the do a RAM increase soon like they did on the original run. Then again, I might just get one anyway!

I used to own a Raspberry Pi B that I turned into a gaming console. Tempted to get another as I have two MasterSystem II shells not being used at the moment.

They also make for a good cloud print driver solution for older printers that aren't cloud enabled; they're considerably cheaper than specialised cloud print servers. Also good as a cheap media player to plug in to TV

The Windows 10 option is interesting but only if MS pre-install an ARM compatible version of Office, it will be like having a small, cheap, screenless Surface with Win RT. Being ARM based it's likely to be limited, although I did see a report that MS wanted all apps in their store to work with x86, x64 and ARM based devices in future.

I'll probably pick one up to play with.

Availability seems to be pretty poor at the moment unless buying from reseller or direct from wholesale. Going to wait for Amazon UK to stock them direct as I know what I'm getting in case of an issue.

Original Model B: You need to be registered to view this link, please log-in or register

Also some UnixBench results: You need to be registered to view this link, please log-in or register

Looking forward to the windows 10 release although I suspect it will just be core without a GUI much like windows 8 on the intel galileo

There will not be a RAM upgrade, the new CPU supports an absolute maximum of 1GB. So it's already maxed out :P I'd defiantly recommend getting one though!
