GOOGLE APP NOT CONNECTING TO INTERNET

Hi
Both my tablets running W8.1 will not allow me to search from the GOOGLE app [uninstalled and installed no change]

keeps coming back 'unable to connect to the internet check settings'.

I am connected, everything else is working fine. This only happened today. Google search online on my laptop reveals nothing of help.

Google Chrome works fine too on one tablet [not installed on the other]

Bing search on IE is fine.

What settings have been altered that I need to check.

Still no joy despite all my searches and setting checks.

I can search on Google via Chrome and the UC Browser I have just downloaded as a workaround.

The Google app cannot access the internet direct and search.

the error code is:- "Unable to connect to the internet check your settings and try again"

I can access the help pages on the internet from the Google app!!

That is Bizarre.

After another round of updates all is now working fine again.
