LINX 10 (Windows 8.1): USB ports not working

Postby pratul » November 15th, 2016, 1:32 pm

My keyboard suddenly stopped working. Initially, I thought it must be the keyboard. However, I found yesterday that the USB port does not recognise anything.

Then I found the problem in the "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" section in Device Manager. There were 4 items:
(1) Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller
(2) Unrecognised device
(3) Unrecognised device
(4) USB Root Hub

After some research with published Microsoft documents, I uninstalled the unrecognised devices with a hope that when I reboot, Windows would automatically install the necessary software. That did not happen! I now have two items:
(1) Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller
(2) USB Root Hub

I also refreshed my tablet (keeping my files - not factory reset though). Also ran the hardware troubleshooter. No improvement!

Does anyone have any idea what to do next?

Thanks a lot for your response.

In fact, I downloaded Linx10.zip last night but didn't find the courage to run it!

I found a lot of MacOS X files - not sure why they are there. Can you hook up a LINX 10 to a Mac and update drivers?

The installation instruction in the main file is simple: "install /i /q". Does it install ALL drivers for LINX 10? Can I not do something selectively for USB?

OK - WinZip offered me a confusing view. Linx10.zip has 4 different drivers:

(1) Bluetooth
(2) Chipset
(3) G-Sensor
(4) WiFi

I ran the Chipset driver [5830_Chipset_Driver_67YC3_WN32_603.9600.2067.27988_A00.EXE]. It installed successfully but there is NO change with my USB ports.

Is there anything else I can try?
