Tablet wont turn on

Postby jsblake_uk » February 1st, 2015, 10:46 am

Had my Linx 8 Tablet for about a month, great item had no problems, but the other night turned it off as usual (shut down), plugged it in to charge & when I came to turn it on in the morning, nothing it just wont start. Tried holding on button for 10 seconds, nothing. Tried restore, volume up button & power, nothing. I think it's dead, Red power light comes on when charger plugged in & goes out when, I think, it's fully charged. Any ideas or do I need to return it.

Sounds pretty bad!

Have you tried just leaving the device for a couple of days on charge?

If not, i'd speak to wherever you bought it from/Exertis

Did you manage to resolve ?

I have the same issue with my Linx 8 that I bought about a month or so ago from Amazon and although there won't be an issue returning, I wouldn't want to return if there is an easy fix.

I've had similar issue on my Linx 8, happened a couple of times. I think mine was some sort of sleep of death caused by issue in connected standby. Holding down the power button seemed to work but did take a while for it to come back (almost gave up) - worth a try

Had something similar happen on my Linx10 after it went to sleep during an update. Held the power button down for what seemed like an age, when it finally restarted it completed the update process.

Hi there,

I had a similar problem before - to stop this from happening Exertis advised me the following:

Devices powering themselves on, discharging when shut down or not holding a charge and/or experiencing difficulties with powering on is a now-known Windows 10 issue. Please follow the steps below to resolve the issue;

Go to 'Control Panel'. (In the search box on the taskbar, type Control Panel, and then select Control Panel)
Select ‘Hardware and Sound’.
Select 'Power Options'.
Select 'Choose what the power buttons do' (found on the left-hand pane)
Select 'Change settings that are currently unavailable' (written in blue above the Power and Sleep button options)
Uncheck 'Turn on fast startup (recommended)'.
Save changes.

Hope this helps
