Will Windows update to 10 in a compressed form?

I believe 8.1 is pre-installed on the Linx 8 tablet in a compressed form to save space on the 32 GB SSD.

If I update to Windows 10 via. Windows Update, will Windows 10 install in a compressed form also?

No. It's a standard install.
I much prefer that - there's a small impact on space but re-installing is much simpler, you can just grab a normal iso.

Actually, it does install in a compressed mode on tablets, but the iso is the same. The system basically decompresses system files on the fly. The install system decides whether to do a compressed install or an uncompressed install based on space available.

To check any install run following in a command prompt with admin

compact /compactos:query

On a typical 32GB tablet, it will respond os is in compact state.

Mine isn't - linx 8, win 10 pro clean install.
Maybe an upgrade would be treated differently?

By doing a clean install, it probably decided you had enough space to install without compression.

Nice thing is going can simply change it with a single command as explained in article. Could save another couple of GBs. Change is reversible.

Obviously, make backups blah blah blah....

So the answer to the original question seems to be 'Maybe, but it doesn't matter.'

Basically yes. Also next RTM Version will allow apps to be installed on sd card so apace is less of an issue.
