Adding more memory to Linx 8

Postby Llewelyn » September 4th, 2015, 11:51 am

Anyone had the linx 8 apart and worked out if it's possible to add more memory to it?

Just wondering whether they use a standard laptop style DIMM or whether it's all on-board and soldered, or what. Seems to me the 1GB rather cripples it, if it could be upped to 2 or even 4, it'd be more capable.

It's soldered in place so unless you've got your own reflow station you're out of luck.

Also, the Linx 8 has the Z3735F CPU like the Linx 10. If you could find a way to replace the RAM chip, it would accept 2GB.

Aaaah - just checked my Linx 8 and yes it does have a Z3735F CPU.

My mistake in believing what was posted on the internet.

That has a maxi,um RAM of 2Gb You need to be registered to view this link, please log-in or register but as indicated above, unrealistic to consider upgrading.
